Shin Yi Tsai, LCSW
Therapy can offer you greater opportunities for personal healing and growth along with a deeper connection to yourself and others. I provide compassionate support and guidance to help you better understand feelings and thoughts, find new ways of coping, and to feel more alive and authentic. I listen carefully to what concerns you and work closely with you to help you reach your short- and long-term goals. In our time together, I would invite compassion and curiosity for yourself while offering different perspectives on what may contribute to challenges and stresses. Your cultural experiences and how you identify are integral to who you are, and exploring such experiences enriches the therapy process. Most importantly, I believe that developing a cooperative working relationship with you is essential for bringing about healing and lasting changes in your life. Please explore my website 510therapy.com for more info on my services.
I draw upon various methods that include relational and psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic
and mindfulness-based skills, and crisis management. I also value a social justice approach that considers how historical and institutional systems of oppression impact a person’s psyche and health and the communities that they identify with.
Areas of Clinical Work
I enjoy helping adults and teens with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety and stress, relationships, trauma, grief and loss, sexuality, gender identity and cultural issues. I remain committed to providing culturally sensitive services that take into account a person’s experiences in multiple communities and contexts.
I provide therapy for individuals and couples.
I have a sliding scale available for certain time slots.
I accept Anthem Blue Cross and Optum insurance plans.
